Heat Pumps NOW Director: Blair AshdowneLiving in the same part of Christchurch for most of his life means Blair knows his neighbours, and is passionate about his community.
Blair started in the commercial air conditioning trade, working on such projects as the Christchurch Casino, CPIT, and University of Canterbury. He then spent a decade in sales, so he knows all about home heating solutions and how to install them right first time. After many years working for big companies, he realised people want a local touch and to shop from people they trust. He founded Heat Pumps NOW so you can do just that. He loves his family, playing touch rugby, and supporting the Crusaders! “We know what the climate is like. We know what our suburbs are like. We know what it’s like to live here, because we are right along side you. We want to do all that we can to help people live through everything Christchurch is going through.” For Blair, Heat Pumps NOW is truly a chance to serve his community, by providing excellent heating solutions to you and your family. It also means he get’s to be his own boss… though only when Emily’s not around. |

Office Administrator: Emily AshdowneOrganising a solicitors office, Southern Community Laboratory, and even Canterbury Clothing (CCC) corporate head office has given Emily administration experience invaluable to the running of Heat Pumps NOW.
Emily also draws a lot on her experience as a mother, managing her busy household, keeping up communication and multi-tasking skills to ensure the Heat Pumps NOW team knows what they’re doing. Christchurch born and raised, Emily’s lived most of her life in St. Albans. She loves the neighbourhood, the local school, her four boys and husband Blair. For Emily, Heat Pumps NOW represents an exciting new challenge in returning to the workforce, but also an opportunity to help families keep their homes warm and dry. |

Heat Pump Installer: James Coates aka "Newby"Some engineering training helped make James’ transition into the world of heat pumps easy. He’s the newest member of the Heat Pumps NOW team.
Although he spent a little time travelling around New Zealand, James is a born and bred Cantabrian, and has lived most of his life in Christchurch. James has worn a few hats in his time, working in photography, security, and industrial and commercial engineering. He joined Heat Pumps NOW for the great work environment and the chance to make a positive difference in the community. On the rare occasions Blair lets him have time off, James enjoys working on his car, photography, and flying drones in the park. |

Kahla BrooksIt’s fair to say Kahla never thought she would find heat pumps this interesting or important, but she believes in the Heat Pumps NOW team mentality – That we look after our team and take a genuine interest in our community.
She brings her extensive admin and accounts background to the Heat Pumps NOW team, ensuring all things run smoothly behind the scenes. She previously worked for a catering company, and was integral to the event planning, quoting, invoicing, and customer enquiry side of the business. For the past six years Kahla has been committed to her family, raising her two daughters and satisfying her husband’s sweet tooth with her kitchen creations. Kahla loves baking and experimenting with different recipes to come up with something new. Joining Heat Pumps NOW marks Kahla’s return to the workforce. She’s motivated by her passion for family and well-being, as everyone needs to be warm and dry to stay healthy. |
