​Christchurch’s annual air quality targets have already been exceeded

Just four weeks into winter, Christchurch managed to exceed the new air quality targets. Between the middle of May and late June, Christchurch recorded five high air pollution nights. Kaiapoi had six.

Christchurch’s target for the entire year was no more than three high air pollution nights. In 2020, that reduces to one. 

The results are actually worse than last year – in 2016 Christchurch had five nights overall. So what can we do?
