Here are some quick fixes and simple solutions that might just solve your problem. Heat Pump Remote Not Working? As tempting as it may be, don’t the remote. This could create more damage than actually help. First try replacing the batteries. Most heat pump remote controls have AAA or AA batteries that can be accessed through a cover on the reverse side. Believe it or not, this actually solves the issue most of the time. If you’ve changed the batteries in your remote but you still can’t turn your heat pump on or off, let us know. Is Your Heat Pump Not Responding? It’s possible that the connection between the indoor and outdoor units is a little scrambled. Try turning the power off at the switch next to your outdoor heat pump unit and leave it for ten minutes before turning it on again. The classic “Have you tried turning it off and on again response." A number of issues can momentarily block the connection between these units but this easy fix can clear up the problem. Why Isn't My Heat Pump Heating?Have a look at your remote. Someone may have pressed the “Mode’ button by mistake. Your heat pump won’t heat your room, no matter how hard you try, if it’s set to cooling mode. To be clear, the sunshine means heating while the snowflake is cooling. When changing to a different mode or adjusting the temperature, make sure you hear the heat pump beep in acknowledgement. Is Your Heat Pump Leaking?During Summer in Christchurch, we rush to put our heat pumps into cooling mode, only to notice water dripping out the front. There are a couple of reasons for this. There is either a blockage in the pipe that allows condensation from your heat pump to drip outside, or there could be a fault with the condensate pump that pushes the water out. Sadly, this isn't a heat pump issue you can fix yourself and it won't go away if you ignore it. If your Christchurch heat pump is leaking, the best thing to do is contact Heat Pumps NOW immediately on 03 377 7393. We can service your heat pump and find out the cause of your leaking heat pump. Is Your Heat Pump Noisy?Just because their getting noisy doesn’t necessarily mean it’s dying. Listen closely to the sound it makes. Rattling noises might be related to the cover panels so check those and make sure they’re screwed tight. Also, clean your filters regularly because blocked filters can cause certain noise.
