How Do Heat Pumps Work?
The simple mechanism works through a refrigerant medium that absorbs heat from the cold air outside. It travels through the pipes to get to the indoor unit which takes the heat from the refrigerant and releases it in the room.
With the push of a button, heat pumps turn into air conditioners in summer. Hot air is absorbed from your room into the unit where the heat is transferred to the refrigerant. The heat is then pumped out to the compressor in the outdoor unit. If you want to read a more technical explanation, click here.
