Who Controls The Work Heat Pump?

4/12/2018

Have you ever thought about the magic number for an office temperature? Especially in the peak of summer in Canterbury, there are always people who are too hot or too cold. You might have spent some time fiddling with the remote control keys of your heat pump just to figure it out.

Yes, we know it can make all the difference with your productivity. In fact, here in Christchurch it can get too hot and unless we get the right temperature, those with desk jobs can end up with sweaty fingers, dozing off at the corner or worse.

So let’s find out more about the right temperature for a work heat pump in Christchurch!

Studying Commercial Heat Pumps

According to a Helsinki University of Technology and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory study in 2006, the ideal office temperature is 22°C. The research lasted for a month and shows significant results that at 22°C, the staff performed best.

However, the researchers at Cornell University found a different result in their own research. Their study shows that 25°C is in fact the ideal office temperature. They provided figures in the typing percentage and error percentage of the employees. They said that at 25°C, people were typing 100% of the time, with only 10% margin of error. One the other hand at 18°C, productivity dropped to  54% and the margin of error increased to 25%.

Which of the studies should we believe? We know it seems confusing, but anywhere between 22°C and 25°C is actually a safe zone here in Christchurch. We’ve narrowed down the odds so you can experiment in between these numbers, and figure out the best temperature for your work heat pump yourself! You won’t have to fiddle so much anymore!

Benefits Of The Right Workplace Temperature

With the right temperature, you can stay fresh, awake, comfortable and most importantly, working productively! You’ll be able to avoid freezing fingers for having the air conditioning too low or if it’s too high, a sweaty bunch of co-workers. While there are many things you can’t control in an office, having the right temperature can increase your odds of working productively.

Heat Pumps NOW can install commercial heat pumps across Canterbury that come with plenty of features to help you control the temperature from anywhere and at any time. Through the use of the timer, you can customise heating temperatures at different times.

Through the WiFi control, you can monitor and adjust your work heat pump from anywhere in the country even if you are outside Christchurch. People around the office won’t have to wait forever for the air con to kick in. It automatically follows the settings you’ve chosen
